    Music star Yanni was arrested at his Manalapan home on Friday, March 3, after his girlfriend accused him of verbally abusing and pushing her during a late night argument. Manalapan police were called to the home of the 51-year-old musician, whose legal name is John Christopher, after his girlfriend called 911 from a locked bathroom late Thursday.

    Matthew Shafer, aka rock-country musician Uncle Kracker, was arrested Aug. 17, 2007, on a charge of second-degree sex offense stemming from an incident at a nightclub, authorities said.

    James Brown, the 'Godfather of Soul,' was arrested by Aiken County cops in January 2004 and charged with domestic violence after allegedly pushing his wife to the floor during an argument at the couple's South Carolina home. According to investigators, Tommie Rea Brown, 33, suffered 'scratches and bruises to her right arm and hip' during the bedroom dispute.

    Blake Fielder-Civil, husband of singer Amy Winehouse, who was sentenced to 27 months in prison at London's Snaresbrook Crown Court, for perverting the course of justice and beating up a pub manager. Fielder-Civil admitted beating up pub manager James King in a barroom fight in 2006 and then offering him 200,000 pounds (US $400,000) to keep quiet about it.

    Richie Sambora, the lead guitarist for Bon Jovi, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Sambora was charged Tuesday April 22, 2008, with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit, the Orange County district attorney's office said.

    Rapper Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, was arrested Nov. 1, 2007 after a dispute at a nightclub northeast of Atlanta, where she was accused of hitting a waitress over the head with a bottle of rum. She was charged with aggravated assault, DeKalb County Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said.

Billy Bob Thornton's Daughter Indicted in Goddaughter's Death

The estranged daughter of Billy Bob Thornton has been indicted on several charges in the death of a 1-year-old girl she was baby sitting in central Florida. Amanda Brumfield, 29, was booked at the Orange County Jail on Wednesday. She faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child. Court records show she told investigators the infant who died in her care in October acted normally and ate bananas after she fell from a playpen and hit her head. But detectives believe Brumfield's story is inconsistent with the girl's injuries. The child was her goddaughter.

Perez Hilton has accused the Black Eyed Peas' manager of assaulting him outside a Toronto nightclub, and he's hitting back with a civil lawsuit. The celebrity blogger is seeking more than $25,000 for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. TMZ reveals that Polo Molina is on probation stemming from a DUI arrest in California, and therefore could also spend up to six months in jail for popping Perez.

An alleged scuffle with French police raises concerns that three-time rehab patient Jonathan Rhys Meyers has fallen off the wagon. British paper the Sun reports that the 'Tudors' star challenged police to a fight at Paris' Charles DeGaulle airport. Reportedly, the star threw a handful of money at the officers, bragged about his wealth, then said, "You wanna hit me? Hit me!"

The Sun reports that a couple of "drunken thugs" hurled insults at the star of 'The Osbournes,' then attacked. Osbourne wrote on his Twitter blog, "Came home and got jumped in the street. Knuckles hurt today. I think it means I hit them harder than they hit me."

Chris Brown Pleads Guilty, Avoids Jail

Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to felony assault on his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. By cutting a deal with prosecutors, the singer won't spend any time in jail, but will have to stay 50 yards away from Rihanna during five years of probation. TMZ is reporting that Brown must also spend 180 days in Virginia on a work camp and will enroll in a domestic violence counseling program.
