Had Enough MJ Yet?

It's been a long two weeks for fans of Michael Jackson. For people who could care less about the singer, though, this experience must have felt like years. It all came to a head on Tuesday with the star-studded, tears-ridden and decidedly spiritual memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The event was aired, in its entirety, on all the CNNs and MSNBCs of the world, which started their coverage by tailing the Jackson family as they attended a private ceremony at a local cemetery. Helicopters were involved.

A judge said Monday that Michael Jackson's longtime attorney and a family friend should take over the pop singer's estate for now, rejecting a request from Jackson's mother to be put in charge. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff backed attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain, who had been designated in Jackson's 2002 will as the people he wanted to administer his estate. Attorneys for the pop singer's mother repeatedly objected to their appointment at Monday's court hearing. Jackson died June 25, deeply in debt.

Michael Bay is brushing off reported criticism from Megan Fox that his movies depend too heavily on special effects, and fail to offer ample opportunities for actors to act, telling the Wall Street Journal his 'Transformers' starlet is showing her naiveté by biting the hand that feeds.
